Delete your account
How to delete your ONUPA account, what deleting it removes, and what is kept.
How to delete your account
In the app: sign in, open You, then Privacy Centre, then Delete my account. Before you confirm, the app shows you what goes and what stays.
What is deleted
- Your sign-in: your email address, your password, any Google sign-in, and every session. You are signed out on every device at once.
- Your name and your own settings: notification choices, devices registered for notifications, your language preference, and anything you saved, followed or marked as a favourite.
- Your place in every family, and the caregiver permissions that came with it.
- Any voice you recorded for Family Voice, including the copy held by the voice provider. Your deletion is not finished until the provider confirms that copy is gone.
Your family's stories
Stories, moments and children's profiles belong to the family, not to one account. If you share the family with another guardian, they stay with that guardian. If you are the only guardian of a family with a child, the app asks you first to delete the family's data (Privacy Centre, then Delete data) or to invite another guardian, so a child is never left without a guardian.
What is kept, and for how long
- An empty account record with no name, no email address and no way to sign in. It is kept for as long as the family records that refer to it, so that an approval made in the family still shows that a person made it.
- Security records about the account, such as when the deletion was asked for. They hold identifiers and dates, not your details, and are kept with that record.
- A backup taken before you deleted your account can still contain your details until that backup is replaced.
- A file you exported and downloaded is on your own device, and deleting your account cannot reach it.
If you cannot sign in
Reset your password from the sign-in page, then delete your account in the app. A deletion request has to come from someone who can prove the account is theirs.
