Trust & Safety

How ONUPA protects a family, and what it refuses to do.

The short version

An adult holds the account. A child has no login and no way to reach ONUPA except through a session an adult opened for them. Personalised content passes an adult's approval before it can be shown.

These are enforced on the server, not in the interface, and there is no administrator override that produces child-facing personalised content without a parent's approval.

Parent approval

You read the draft, you edit it or ask for another, and only then can a child open it. Approval is a step in the system, not a preference — there is nothing to switch off and no exemption for a trusted family.

What Child Mode will never contain

  • No open chat with an AI, and no free story generation.
  • No billing, no settings, no administration.
  • No family analysis, no Parent Companion reading, no memory to view or edit.
  • Nothing framing ONUPA as a child's secret friend, therapist or carer.

Subjects that stop a story

Some subjects end automatic storytelling outright. ONUPA shows a calm message written for an adult, points toward appropriate human help, and records a minimal safety note.

It does not question a child, does not name what it noticed and does not explain how it decided. Those rules are deterministic: no model gets a vote on overriding them.

What ONUPA is not

Not a diagnosis, not therapy, not a professional opinion about your child. ONUPA does not decide the cause of a behaviour and does not present a guess as a fact. If something worries you, the right next step is a person, not an app.
